“Managing your business today requires creative planning and impeccable execution” The founding partner of Napa-based Scion Advisors, Deborah Steinthal, has been an executive across a variety of industries globally and helped organizations transform from startup through high growth; restructure due to poor performance; and integrate new acquisitions.
Drawing from her broad general management expertise, Steinthal works along side business leaders who are navigating important transitions, to identify and align shareholder and business goals, and develop reality-based strategic planning and execution practices. Her approach enables clients to realize stronger returns and confront business transitions with less risk, less pain and more success.
Steinthal imparts a far-reaching point of view drawn from 25 years experience with small and large companies across diverse industries. As a senior executive for world class organizations such as Oracle and Lockheed Martin, she played a lead role steering organizations through major transitions: joint ventures and acquisitions, launching new businesses, products, initiatives and services regionally and globally.
From 1998, Steinthal has focused heavily on the wine industry first as Vice President of Business Development at The Winetasting Network and later as Managing Director at MKF Group LLP, where she launched and built a successful management consulting practice. In 2004, she founded Scion Advisors to serve the needs of family owned businesses.
Steinthal is passionate about education and has served on the Board of Directors for New Technology Foundation; been an advisor to a Stanford University legacy leadership MBA project; served on the Walden West Foundation Board for Santa Clara County, Natural Sciences Program. With a Bachelor of Science in Business and Economics from Lehigh University, Pennsylvania and an Executive MBA from the Lockheed Management Institute at University of Santa Clara – Steinthal is broadly published and quoted by national business press; an invited panelist, and CEO roundtable moderator.
Having lived, worked and travelled in Europe, Asia and North America, Steinthal and her husband, wine industry photographer John McJunkin, are based out of Napa Valley and have a 23 year old daughter.
