
“Run your business as if you are preparing to sell.” Hank Salvo's skills and expertise in finance, accounting, planning and business development took him to the top of consumer goods giant Clorox Company's financial team.
Salvo transferred these skills to the wine industry joining Robert Mondavi Corporation as its CFO in 2000. There his responsibilities included accounting, treasury, information technology, legal, purchasing and logistics. He remained with Robert Mondavi until 2005 when the company was acquired by Constellation Brands. Since 2005 he has served on Scion Advisors’ Board, consulting with family businesses across as variety of issues such as strategic planning, succession planning, and governance.
Hank was named Chairman of the Patz & Hall Winery Board in 2005. He has also been a Board member for the California College of the Arts since 1992 and a Trustee for the Educational Foundation of California State University East Bay since 1993. He recently chaired a $25 million capital campaign to build a new Business and Technology Center on the CSUEB Hayward campus. From 1992 to 2000, Hank was also a member of the Advisory Committee for the Center for Financial Reporting and Management at the Haas School of Business, UC Berkeley.
Hank graduated from UC Berkeley in 1970 with a BS in finance and from Cal State in 1972 with an MBA. Hank and his wife Nancy married in 1977 and have two sons. Hank and Nancy enjoy golf and travel.
